  • Beauty and The Beast

    Beauty and The Beast

    $20.00$350.00

Idea behind the painting: There is no standard of beauty. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. It can be a human, tree or a small dog that is extremely loyal.

I used to live next door to a woman who had the fattest Chinese Pug dog I had ever seen. It used to make a lot of noise just trying to breathe when it was sitting. He was a very nice and friendly dog even though he was not a svelte dalmatian. So I put him next to a beautiful woman.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 16″ x 19″.

    Why Me? Frankenstein Tribute

    $20.00$299.00

Idea behind the painting: The original Frankenstein movie is a classic. But I always felt Frankenstein was not happy at his creation and a life that was forced on him.

The original painting is 3-D; Frankenstein’s eyebrow and bolt on the neck raise up from the painting surface.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 16″ x 24″.

This picture won top placement at Artists & Craftsman Halloween contest, October, 2012.

  • The Man in the Derby Hat

    $20.00$250.00

The Man in the Derby Hat

    $20.00$250.00

Idea behind the painting: The man in the derby is Wallace, who was a TV comedy show host for teenage audiences in Phoenix, Arizona. I loved the show, as did all kids did in Arizona, from ages 10 to 25. Kids enjoy blowing bubbles, so I put Wallace in some bubbles to reflect the happiness he brought to teenagers.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 17.5″ x 24″.

  • Come Here My Furry Friend

    $20.00$199.99

    Come Here My Furry Friend

    $20.00$199.99

Idea behind the painting: Grimm’s Fairy Tales had strange characters. I never realized how wicked they were until I was an adult. For instance, an old woman or a cannibalistic witch who fattens and eats children (Hanzel and Gretel).  These fairy tales conjure up some fun images.  The Grimm’s Fairytales was in my mind when I found a photo of an old hippie woman.  I over emphasized her body features and put her in a kitchen that could be deep in a forest in Germany.  I couldn’t have her trying to kill children, so I had her trying to kill a mouse and not realizing she had stepped on her dog’s tail.

  • You are in a Different Space

    $20.00$199.00

You are in a Different Space

    $20.00$199.00

Idea behind the painting: Some people are always happy.  Some people are pessimists. We should always have a happy person in our lives to remind us of that happy space that makes life more colorful.

This painting is on a similar theme as my “You Can Always Dream” painting.  A child who has been growing up in a ‘black and white’, very serious world  is contrasted with a very colorful character who is laughing. In my mind, the boy realizes the world is much bigger and wonderful than his small neighborhood with his strict parents.

  • Kevin Gets Ready for Work

    Kevin Gets Ready for Work

    $20.00$600.00

Idea behind the painting: For several years, I worked with a nice man, whose name was Kevin.  His face wrinkled up in a great fashion when he laughed in meetings (he did this often). He was also a golf addict. The odd/old style bathroom is from my grandmother’s house. Putting the old (bathroom) with the modern (golf fanatic) was fun.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 24.5″ x 32″.

    Your Move

Idea behind the painting: Clowns in general are creepy. But, some of the clowns with Cirque de Soleil are beautiful. This painting is trying to capture the elegance of their costumes and the motion of their gymnastics.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 18″ x 24″.

  • Peter Lorre Tribute

    Peter Lorre Tribute

    $20.00$289.00

Idea behind the painting: I am a big fan of Humphrey Bogart and Peter Lorre.  One of my favorite movies with these actors is The Maltese Falcon. Peter Lorre looked weird in real life, and this is what made him so interesting to draw. Peter Lorre was a fantastic bad guy oozing with slime.  I made the portrait with dark colors to represent the dark, weird characters he played in movies. This is my tribute to him.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 17″ x 25″.

  • My Date

    $20.00$299.00

    My Date

    $20.00$299.00

Idea behind the painting: Charmers come in all sizes. I am a big fan of dogs. Even the ‘ugly’ ones are wonderful and deserve a loving home

Sharpei dogs only started becoming public in the early 1980s. Before then, the breed did not exist with the American Kennel Club (AKC). The dogs are from China, but the communistic government considered them to be representative of the emperors, and therefore ordered to have them all killed. They were all killed except for three, that some Americans were able to sneak out in the 1970s. They started breeding them and the AKC recognized the breed in 1992. This painting reflects the regal nature of these interesting dogs.

  • The Forgotten Ones

    The Forgotten Ones

    $20.00$325.00
Idea behind the painting: While we work hard to have a nice and healthy life, there are homeless or ‘down-trodden’ people who are ‘forgotten.’ Just because some consider them invisible, they can still have an enjoyable life. We can learn from their happiness.  If you would like to buy the original painting, select size 16″ x 19″.
